Harvesting

This job can be semi automated by setting Automatic harvesting modes and fully automated using trains. But first it's done manually by your characters. You can select a full grown field and click on the Harvest button in the right window. To select multiple fields pick the Harvest tool from the bottom menu. This tool can be used for harvesting crops but also trees and stones.

For the semi automation done by characters, pick one of the Automatic modes in the right window or in the bottom Harvest submenu. Manual cut down, harvest or replant mean that you need to click on the plant and select harvest. Automatic cut down, harvest or replant mean that once a plant is fully grown, seeded or prepare for planting characters will cut it down, harvest or replant.

Full automation using trains works the best if you actually set the priority for the job to Paused or the Automatic mode to None. Both cause that characters won't do this job and therefore it's completely up to trains.
