By the map requirements are meant the elements in the build menu that are required for a playable map. The most important is the Start point for spawning mutants at the beginning of a game. And End portal for delivering items to finish a goal of the map. Without these, you cannot save the created map. Not necessary but important are water resources, meteors, resource deposits and plants.

There should be at least one water source on every map because water is the most crucial element for gameplay. Without water mutants wouldn't have anything to drink, plants wouldn't have moisture and then they'd dry and die.

You can set whatever amount of meteors for one map, different sizes, and timing when they should appear. It's good to test a map before sharing it with the rest of the players to see if the amount of meteors, timing, and place of the hit is a fun part of gameplay. But it's a good practice to have at least one meteor for a map to bring Platinum ore.

Resource deposits give players necessary resources almost immediately without the need of segmenting them out of the soil. It's a good practice to have at least a couple of such resources placed on a map. Resource deposits are:

  • Stones
  • Iton ore
  • Copper ore
  • Coal
  • Limestone
  • Oil

Plants are necessary for players for 2 reasons. Players need trees to gather wood so you should place some living trees on the map so that they can spread and players can collect wood repeatedly. Second necessary plants are crops for food and other products such as engine oil and biomass. Place some fields of carrots, rice, or tea across the map to give players a chance for surviving and nice gameplay.
