Basic Wooden Storage is built out of Planks which you can produce in Manual Sawing Station or in Mechanical Saw. It accepts items brought by belts but can't push them out.
Set filter for which objects you want to store inside a storage otherwise characters will choose them instead of you. Only one type of objects can be stored there but you can change the filter any time.
